TUI River Cruises Welcomes Second Vessel Under TUI Skyla Name
Festive sailing will stop at Cologne, Düsseldorf, Koblenz and Rudesheim in Germany, with Christmas markets leading the shore excursion program. You can also enjoy Christmas activities, mulled wine and regional Christmas dishes on board.
The ceremony was chaired by Company Captain Marco Menke and University Examinations Sponsor Catherine Hawkins.
To celebrate the launch of TUI Skyla, a winter wonderland-themed upper deck was created, complete with igloo-style capsules, a live choir, hot chocolate and mulled wine, as well as the official sail with sparklers lining the quay.
Chris Hackney, Managing Director of Cruise TUI UK and I said: “We are delighted to welcome the second ship in the TUI River Cruises fleet on our first festive cruise of the year.”
He noted “continued growth in demand” for TUI Skyla 2022 routes on the Danube, with Danube Treasures being the top seller.
TUI reports a strong demand for crossings in winter and during festive periods on European rivers. Bookings for solo travelers have also increased and to meet demand TUI River Cruises has increased its supply of solo cabins during the Christmas period by making all double cabins available on all Christmas cruises.
Skyla is the second ship in TUI’s river cruise fleet to join TUI Maya launched in August. A third vessel, the TUI Isla, will be added next spring.
