Riviera Travel offers new city break extensions on river cruises

Riviera Travel has added ten three-day European city break extensions to its 2023 river cruise itineraries.

Extensions offer a centrally located hotel stay, handpicked by Riviera, with guests then free to explore the city at their own pace.

Riviera has partnered with an online travel platform holibob so customers can also book recommended tours and experiences.

As part of the booking price, all city breaks include return flights with a choice of regional UK departures, ship to hotel and hotel to airport transfers, and daily breakfast.

The move comes as a growing number of guests have asked to stay independently after their river cruise.

Riviera offers European cruises on the Danube, Douro, Rhine, Rhône, Moselle and Seine.

The ten city break extensions include Amsterdam, Basel, Cologne, Frankfurt, Lyon, Vienna and Munich.

Riviera is also currently offering five fully escorted tour extensions on its 2022 and 2023 European river cruise itineraries.

These include the Blue Danube with the extension of Budapest or Prague, and Burgundy, Rhone and Provence with the extension of Lake Geneva and the Golden Pass.
