Go the distance on 10 traffic-free cycling routes in Derbyshire
Avid cyclists can ride 270 miles of beautiful routes across the county without having to battle cars, buses or trucks.
From pedaling along the water’s edge to biking through the woods, there are plenty of trails to explore.
A new interactive cycling map at derbyshire.gov.uk/cycling is a handy starting point for ideas of where your bike could take you.
One of the most popular cycle routes in the Peak District, the 8.5 mile track runs between Blackwell Mill in Chee Dale and Coombs Road in Bakewell. Scenic scenery lines the route through four former railway tunnels.

Cycle from Tapton Lock Visitor Center to Rother Valley and back or cycle around the Poolsbrook National Park Loop. There are cafes, pubs and light refreshments along or near the canal towpath.

Take a three-mile journey between Teversal and Pleasley Pit Country Park and the local nature reserve. Explore the remaining pit buildings and quench your hunger or thirst at the cafes at the Pleasley Pit or the Teversal Visitor Center.
