Five cycle routes around Worcester that you must try

As summer approaches, getting out on a bike and exploring some of the best routes around Worcester is a must.

These five routes are must-haves for anyone looking to get into cycling or looking for a new route.

Sacred Broadway Loop

This route begins at the university’s St John’s campus, passing through Oldbury Wood and the Elgar Birthplace Museum.

There are two options, including a 7.5 mile or 14 mile route.

Worcester City Circular Loop

The City Circular Loop is one of the best ways to see Worcester and uses the city’s existing cycle route network.

Starting near Newtown Road, the route will take you on a beautiful drive around Worcester, on a ride that takes around 9 miles.

Northwick Ladywood Loop

This route offers two different options for experienced and inexperienced cyclists.

Departing from the Pump House Environment Center in Gheluvelt Park, this route takes you through Northwick and Ladywood on a 6.5 mile or 10.5 mile route.

Worcester to Droitwich

Worcester and Droitwich are linked by a superb cycle route, with two different options.

You can either use National Route 45, which follows quiet lanes and the Worcester and Birmingham Canal towpath, or Route 46 which offers an on-road alternative to the west side.

Both routes are just under 10 miles and mostly flat.

Kempsey Norton Loop

This route is one of the most popular in the Worcester area and departs from the Worcester Woods Countryside Centre.

There are two different options, which consist of an 8.5 mile or 13.5 mile route.
