Crystal River Cruises returns this fall
Crystal River Cruises will once again set sail in Europe.
“I am happy to report that plans are well advanced to resume river cruises in Europe from August 29, 2021, as we are cautiously optimistic about recent news from the European Union allowing entry of vaccinated travelers,” said Walter Littlejohn, senior vice president. and Managing Director of Crystal River Cruises in a letter to travel agents.

Littlejohn warned the routes may look different when reopened.
“The recently approved European Union protocol allowing pleasure travel for vaccinated travelers was a necessary and welcome step towards resuming unhindered European river cruises,” Littlejohn wrote. “It is important to note that the adoption of these protocols by the different EU Member States that impact our multi-country routes is a crucial next step, as the Member States ultimately control the borders. “
Crystal has developed new health and safety protocols on board its ships to ensure the safety and health of passengers.
Thanks to its Crystal Clean + measures, guests and crew must be vaccinated; there are COVID-19 tests on boarding; suites are reserved for seclusion, if necessary; HEPA filters are used; and more.
“On behalf of everyone at Crystal River Cruises, I want to thank you all for your understanding during this transitional period of travel,” said Littlejohn. “We look forward to welcoming your clients aboard our magnificent river vessels on the Danube and Rhine to experience the unparalleled personal care, service and luxury of the world’s most luxurious river cruise line.”
