Celebrate Holi on an exclusive island with Antara Luxury River Cruises

Europe on the Ganges, Holi Special, a three-day itinerary will sail to and from Calcutta from March 27, 2021 and dock at the port of Calcutta on March 29.

Antara Luxury River Cruises has put together a sailing program focused on celebrating the Holi festival in the traditional Radha-Krishna style with organic gulals, scented water pichkaaris and marigold petals. The cruise will sail to Mangaldweep Island. From there, a stop in Serampore, a pre-colonial town on the banks of the river, will include a heritage walk through Danish taverns and other historic sites.

The intimate, ALL-SUITE and eco-friendly luxury ship Ganges Voyager II will direct the exclusive departure from Holi. With just 28 luxury suites on the ship and strict health and safety protocols, the cruise is an ideal setting for a safe and immersive travel experience.

Speaking on the leadership of the luxury river cruise concept in India, Co-founder and COO of Antara Cruises, Hemant Mediratta said, “We are delighted with the overwhelming response our cruise has received in such a short time since launch. Antara represents tremendous value as it is a luxurious and transformational all-inclusive experience that covers not only elegant suite accommodation, but also our popular gourmet meals, all facilities as well as our carefully curated activities. We personally welcome each guest to make a meaningful and memorable ‘Antara experience’.

The Holi Special was announced on the heels of Antara Cruises coveted cruise to the world’s largest mangrove forest, the UNESCO-listed Sunderbans region. It included awareness sessions on the unique ecosystem of the Sundarbans, local experiences and wildlife sightings.

The ship will leave the port of Calcutta on March 27 and return to the port of Calcutta on March 29. Committed to the safety and security of guests and crew, Assure Antara, a list of strict health and safety protocols, including flexible bookings, is followed on all ships, services and experiences.
