All Boats Rise At The Beet Retreat: Magnite’s McLeggon – Beet.TV

But these connections are not only digital. At beet retreatone of the highest profile gatherings in the industry, decision makers come together to debate and shape new working relationships.
In this video interview with Beet.TV, Matt McLeggon, SVP, Advanced Solutions, Magnite, explains why he thinks collaboration is key for attendees at the event, which will take place at the Condado Vanderbilt Hotel, San Juan, Puerto Rico, March 16 to 18, 2022.
“Besides the beautiful location, Beet Retreats are known for bringing together wonderful people from all sectors of the industry, some I haven’t seen in a few years since the pandemic,” McLeggon says.
The retreat will host a series of discussions on the future of TV and video advertising and measurement.
For McLeggon, this type of rapprochement is the type of collaboration the industry needs.
“If you think about data cleanrooms, if you think about OTT header auctions, even just the broad convergence of linear digital, it requires close partnerships between different companies, different systems, different types of systems,” he said.
“And so obviously the partnership is imperative, especially if you’re not lucky enough to be one of the gardens in the world.
“I see encouraging signs of progress. The fact that we are talking about it is a good sign.
“Of course, there is a natural tension between innovation and partnership, between individual companies bringing differentiated solutions to market and partnership, but I think we are definitely moving in the right direction.”
Magnite himself is no stranger to collaborations, having announced a series of delays.
“One that I’m excited about is a partnership we announced with AMC late last year,” adds McLeggon. “AMC is now able to offer buyers a solution, a single point of technological contact through Magnite, that not only reaches their streaming services on a myriad of devices, but also linear television.
“There are a lot of other things happening on the advanced TV side as well. We have ongoing partnerships with MVPDs as they seek to make their traditional TV footprints more interoperable with digital, and with programming in particular.
“Part of the AMC partnership was about the OAR project. We have worked closely with many media owners who are part of this consortium.”
